Discover the unknown within the known
Shepherds’ paths, mountains weathered by cold and tracks that lead to a world of rocks and caves. The hidden soul of the villages of this mountain range.
Walking through the Sierra de Albarracín is to discover a primordial land, where the wild strength of the Celtiberian people still echoes. We will encounter a unique landscape formed of meadows, ravines, forests, red rock and cave paintings, hear stories of the maquis and mountains once inhabited by resin workers.
The charm of this natural terrain, which guards the so-called “Spanish Lapland”, is one of the best kept secrets of the peninsula. Those who venture to explore it quietly and freely will discover abundant wildlife and distinctive geological formations. They will also enjoy the soul and the gastronomy of a rural world.
We’ll accompany you on a journey in which we’ll visit picturesque mountain villages nestled within this vast terrain. You will be able to feel the silence and tranquility of a world with little human presence.

Where does the crossing take place?
Sierra de Albarracín

What are we going to do?
Trek
We propose a trek of 1 to 3 days that will go from an altitude of 1,300 metres to 1,800 metres.
Small groups
We like to walk with small groups to enhance the feeling of calm, tranquillity and wild spirit.
Reducing impact
We also want to ensure lower impact, greater manoeuvrability and lightness in all dynamics, as well as a more attentive, friendly cohesive and close knit group feeling. We will walk with a small backpack, allowing us to carry our basic personal gear and some food for the road.
Where will we sleep?
The trek is designed so that at the end of each day we will arrive at a comfortable rural inn. There, you can enjoy a tasty dinner, sleep well and recover energy for the next day’s hike.

Program
Considering that there are many different route options in the mountains, we have not wanted to establish standard itineraries for all groups. Therefore, the stages for the survival crossing are completely personalized based on the characteristics of each group.

Is my physical and technical level adequate?
In our experience as mountaineers, the level of demand is set by each person. If you have a minimum level of fitness, desire and motivation, you can come with us.
However, we must be aware of our own capabilities and not underestimate the challenges. If you have any questions you can ask for guidance. We will be happy to give you some personalised tips and advice, so that you can complete the route with peace of mind.
Don’t forget that hiking and trekking can provide the initial preparation and learning to face other adventures such as: big treks and more demanding high mountain trekking, if that is your future goal.
